Occupational Therapy

We provide many

Occupational Therapies

Our occupational therapists currently serve children in the home, daycare and center through the First Steps program or private pay as applicable. They provide diagnostic and therapeutic services related to children’s needs in the areas of fine motor development, hand-writing, motor planning skills, bilateral and visual coordination and sensory integration. We have specialized equipment to address concerns in these areas.

Feeding Therapy

01

Does  your child eliminate entire food groups from diet? Do they gag or vomit upon trying new or non-preferred food? Do they eat less than 20 foods? That can make your meal time stressful, but they don’t have to be. The Chatter Box has experienced feeding specialists who can help! We have worked with children of all ages and varying feeding issues. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Many families struggle with this issue, and we are here to help.

Handwriting Therapy

02

The development of a child’s handwriting can provide clues to developmental problems that could hinder a child’s learning. Occupational therapists can evaluate underlying components that support a child’s handwriting and address those through a variety of interventions. Handwriting therapy is for rising 1st-3rd graders, and is led by a speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist. We use incorporated strategies from Handwriting Without Tears and Orton-Gillingham practices to better your little one’s handwriting and set them up for success.

Sensory Regulation

03

Sensory regulation therapy is a technique that helps kids to manage their sensory responses and maintain an optimal level of alertness, enabling them to respond appropriately to the sensory stimuli present in their surroundings. This therapy is particularly beneficial for children who struggle with sensory processing issues and helps them to function better in different environments.
