Playgroup

We love our Playgroup/Neighborhood Friend Program! Our class includes up to five two year old children per teacher. Three of the five children receive the service through the Kentucky First Steps program. The other two to three children are our “Neighborhood Friends” who have come to play with us.  There are two adults teaching the class: Angela, Shannon, Mallory or Liz, with an additional adult in the room to assist. We love our Playgroup/Neighborhood Friend Program! The children come to school one day a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 9:30 am to 11:30 pm. We also offer a Thursday afternoon session from 12:30 pm -2:30 pm. Neighborhood Friends have the opportunity to come more than one day a week based on availability. The typical schedule for the two hours is as follows: Note – For afternoon group, each scheduled activity will be 3 hours later.

9:30-9:45            Gross Motor Room
9:45-10:30           Circle Time/Centers
10:30-11:00           Large Movement and Art
11:00-11:20           Snack/Social Time
11:20-11:30           Bye Bye Song

We typically work within a theme (Fall, water, colors, etc) for approximately 4 to 5 weeks at a time. The children will be bringing home their work related to our activities, as well as displaying their work around the room. A monthly newsletter will be sent home as well as activities to work on with your child related to a theme/skill. A calendar will also be given to each family on a monthly basis.

Fees

The fee for Neighborhood Friends is $15 per session for once a week enrollment. If a child is enrolled more than once per week, the fee will be $12.50 per session. The fee is charged monthly for the enrolled days regardless of attendance. Come join us for great fun, socialization, and early learning!
